ARRIVAL OF THE HERO.

The s.s. Hero arrived this mornintr with her customary regularity. Captain Logan reports as follows:— "Cleared the Heads at 5.35 p.m. on the 22c_d instant, and during the first twenty-four hours had moderate nortt-east winds—weather gloomy. Then had strong north-east to easterly winds, with tblck, hazy weather and head sea with heavy rain, until Monday morning, when a densa fog set in, and continued until close up to, the North Cape, which was passed at 1.25 p. m yesterday (Tuesday)— weather c*lm : also, during ths ran along the co»st. A thick fog was again experienced after midnight until after daylight, this morning Entered tbe harbour at. 9 30, The Hero brines a large number of passengers, as will appear from the following list: —From Melbourne : Mr and Mrs James Watt tw _ children and twa servants, Mr and Mrs A. Messrs E and IT Isaacs shipped the following per Sovereign of the Seas for Wa"garei: 1 iron safe, 1 T)ale clothes lines, 1 case sardines, 1 case ink, 1 do stationery. The schooner Julia Price has cleared for Bus.ell in ballast.
