TAURANGA.
(From our own Correspondent.) This day.
There was great excitement on Boxing Day. Over five hundred natives were at the sports, consisting of horse, boat, and foot racing. Captain Forster was assaulted by a native, who was arrested by Mr Grsnt.
Captain Morris is the general favorite for the elections. He is on bis way to Poverty Bay.
