(Per Press Telegram Agency.) This day. Mr Eolleston was returned for Avon un. More excitement was displayed than at any previous election. The following is the polling fdr the city : - Steven^ 1059; Richardson, 992 ; Moorho.use 662 ; Andrews, 532; E. J. Wakefield, 241; TreadweU, 22. The three first are returned. _ Mr Bowen was elected for Kaiapoi by a majority of 41, Mr Beswick polling 294; Bowen, 335.
