RIFLE FIRING.
The monthly firing of No. 3 Company for the Company's cup ; also, for Captain Clark's cup, and two other prizes, took place on Saturday at Mount Eden. The ranges were 400, 500, and 600 yards. Captain Clark's cup has been fired for annually for several years, but Saturday's shooting resulted in Volunteer E. K. Partington carrying it off as his own absolute property. As the highest scorer he also holds the Oompay's cup. Corporal W. Partington was winner of the second prize ; Volunteer B. W. Buttle, third prize ; and Volunteer E. Morrow, fourbh prize.
