(Per Press Telegram Agency.) This day. An Irate Surveyor. g Mr W C Walker, M. P.C, and chairman of the Mount Somers Road Board, has been ■erved with a writ for £5000, for libel, by Bain, a surveyor. The claim is based on a letter impugning the accuracy of a number 01 Bain's surveys. Civil Service Allowances. In the Provincial Council on the motion of A. C. Knight, the Government were instructed to prepare a scheme, during the recess, for providing retiring allowances to persons engaged in the Civil Service of the province. Museum open on SundaysThe Provincial Secretary, in replying to the question from one of the opponents to the Museum being open on Sundays, stated that the number of visitors daring the past six months averaged 600 each Sunday. Foresters' Scholarship. The Foresters offer a three years' scholarship for competition by the sons of members of the Order at the same time in competition for provincial scholarships. The Freemasons also offer scholarships of a similar kind.
