Friday. Three Btacks of wheat and a threshing machine were burned at Thomas Halls,' near Timaru. Loss, £1200. Insured —Norwich £450, New Zealand £160. The fire is supposed to be from drunken men sleeping on straw while smoking.
The Ofcaio Bridge, 517 feet long, has been opened for traffic this morning.
