ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. MIKADO.
The s '_, Mikado arrived at the wharf at one oel Cs o-day. On Saturday, the lSth instant, at 1 .45 p,m , after embarking mails, passengers, an<! pilot the Australasian Steam Navigat on Company s Bival Mtil steamer Mikado, Frank Mo >re, Esq. Commander, cast off from her moorings in Johnston's Bay, Sydney, and proceeded Oown the harbour en rout« for San Vrancisco, via Auckland and Honolulu 246 p m., discharged pilot ;3 p m., cleared the Heads, and proceeded <n her course full speed, with every appearance of squally weather.' On the 14th, a.m., strong breezes with passing showers prevailed. Foie-a. d-aft canvas set all day. A_t midnight, increasing gale set In, and ship shipping much water forward. On the 15th fresh g»les and very rough sea. shipping large quantities of water forward. JSoon, Rale more moderate, sea falling fa3t. From four o'clock to s-vea p.m.. the mercurial barometer rose from 29° 95' to 30° 35\ while the aneroid remained nearly stationary, rising about 8-100 Midnight more moderate on 16th, and commenced with moderate breeze and fine ■weather. Set fore and aft main and topsails, ship goiDg along very steady and shipping no water ; 17th flee smooth weather throughout, steaming only; lpm, Three King* abeam ; 7 p.m , North Cape abeam, distant five miles; 18th arrived in A u^kland 24 hours before co tract time. The s.s. Taranaki was to leave Onehunga for the South at four o'clock this afternoon. Passengers :— Saloon : Me-srs Rayner, W. J, Jamuon, ■*. Turnbull. Cnllett. Blake. C. Tennant, Miss Christian, Mrs J mes, Mrs liooclhce, a few others booked at Onehunga, a id 18 in the steerage.
Ihe barq -ie Anazi cleared out to-day in ballast for Newcastle.
The schooner Golden Isle has cleared in ballast for Russell.
The ship Invererne sailed this afternoon at halfpast one o'clock.
The burque Freetrader cleared at Sydney for Hosiaisga, on the sth inst, in ballast.
The ship Miltiades arrived at London on January 20 from Port Phillip.
The barque TienTsin arrived at Newcastle, from Sydney, tbe 9th inst
The trial trip of the new steamer lona will most probably take place on Saturday next. The ship Invererne has been detained owing to her having incurred some damage by collision with one of the coal hulks, while hauling off into the stream last week. This is now repaired and the ship is to sail for Napier at once.
The barque Bella Mary took her departure for Hobart Town yesterday evening The schooner Daphne for Levuka, and the barque Martha for Samoa, left to-day -with full cargoes for their respective destinations.
