SYDNEY.
January 9. Arrived, December 7th : Strathnaver, from New Zealand. December Bth : Star of India, from Wellington. Henry Hutchenson has been appointed the Governor's private secretary vice Derobeck, resigned.
The Corporation has dismissed one-half of its employes, owing to want of funds. The Mikado left California on Wednesday, the 6th January.
The motion to expunge the Governor's minute re Gardiner's release issuie to be .carried against the Government.
