COMMERCIAL.
The consignment of 15 cases of fruit and fancy trees from the gardens of Messrs Ferguson and Snn, New South Wales, was sold at most satisfactory prices by Messrs Tonks and Co. to-day. There was a large crowd of buyers, and as the plants were of a superior kind much, spirit was shewn in the competition.
Mr Geo. Sibbin reports sale of New Zealand maize 5s 7^-d, and Sydney 5s 9d per bushel. Hobarton potatoes £7 10a per ton ; best Canterbury do, £6 103 per ton. Herrings 10s to 20s per barrel. Other goods fetched reasonable prices.
Mr A. Buckland reports: Hay at from £5 15s to £8 per ton. Draught horses in good demand. Light horses, and riding horses, and hacks brought goods prices.
