At the meeting of the Council this afternoon it was decided that the Council pay half of the sum charged as extras by the contractors for the silt basins. |
A petition from the residents in Vincentstreet, for the maknig of the footpaths in that street, was received, and the Clerk instructed to inform the senders that Vincent street would receive attention when Hobson street was repaired. The report of the Streets Committee was read and approved of. . ■#*-
The report of the special] committee recommended that the building regulations be dispensed with in the case of certain land in the Albert Barracks. After some discussion the consideration [of£the^subject was postponed.
It was camod that the appeals against valuations be deferred for a special sitting^ to be advertised
Mr. Prime moved that Mr. Henry Ridings be appointed sole City Valuator, at a salary of £100j>er annum. Mr. Holdship moved as an amendmen that the subject be left over for consideration of the Council -when in committee for re-1 arranging the officers of the'city.
