Hero, s.s., from Sydney Skimmer of the Wave, ship, from New York Magellan Cloud, brigantine, from Honolulu Genisbok, barque, from New York, via Dunedln Lily, brig, from Adelaide Hydaspes, ship, from London Woodbine, barque, from Lyttelton Surprise, brig, from Lyttelton Saucy Lass, schooner, from Napier Hazel Home, barque, from Mauritius, via Duneclin Ferndale, barque, from Liverpool Ladybird, s.s., from the South Columbia, schooner, from Napier
Tha Helen brings 6000 sleepers, and 20,000 shingles. She has cleared out in ballast. The Sea Gull, with a cargo of coals from Russell, anchored off the North Head early this morning. During the forenoon she weighed anchor and attempted to beat up the harbour. She made but little vantage way against the strong head wind, and brought up again a little way up the harbour. She came up and anchored off the breakwater at three o'clock.
The schooner Mata from T. orotonga arrived yesterday afternoon. Captain Young reports a moderately fair passage till making the land when strong N. and N.W., windj. veering to S W., were encountered. Her cargo will be mostly transhipped into one of the vessels loading for London. The barquentine Prince Alfred is announced to leave for Norfolk Island and New Caledonia on Tuesday next. This vessel is at present under repair. Her foremast having been found defective it has been found necessary to fit her with a new one. The St Leonards was brought alongside the main T of the wharf at 4 p.m. to-day.
