SUPREME COURT.
THIS DAY.
Sittings in Banco. (Before His Honor Mr Justice Johnston.) His Honor entered the Court at ten o'clock. '9 ADMISSION OF BARRISTERS. Mr Hesketh applied that" Mr John Mackie Alexander be admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court. The am- , davits had been duly filed. His Honor stated that he had himself examined Mr Alexander in law, and was well satisfied. The gentleman was duly admitted and sworn. This was the first instance in Auckland in which a gentleman had been admitted to'-the bar as the pupil of a barrister, in all other instances the candidates having been articled clerks Mr (Alexander was a pupil of Mr E. Hesketh. Mr Hesketh then made a similar applicacation on behalf of Mr John Alexander Beale. His Honor granted the application, remarking that Mr Beale had passed a satisfactory examination. The candidate was then sworn.
