DOMAIN GARDENS.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sir, —Your contemporary the Cross of Monday last states that Messrs Heale, Kissling, and Mitford, members of the Domain Board, made a thorough examination of the grounds on Saturday last. It also states "that the grounds in that part of the Domain known as Brighton's gardens are in a most filthy condition, and greatly need clearing out." Now, Mr Editor, I have known these gardens for very many years, and I must say that on Sunday last I did not perceive that the garden was in this state, but was struck with its improved appearance, cleanliness of the paths, absence of weeds from the borders, and the profusion of flowers. Several who visited the gardens on Sunday and to-day spoke of the injustice of the report, and I need hardly say that a visit to the grounds will prove the falsehood of the statement. However, the next meeting of the Domain Board will tell whether such was the case, as it is presumed tbe committee will make a report on the subject.—l am, &c, Visitor.
