VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
A rifle match of No. 1 Royals Rifle Club took place on Mount Eden range on Saturday afternoon, at 200, 400, and 500 yards ; seven shots at each range. The firing was not so good as was expected on account of the strong southerly wind which was blowing a gale at the time, stirring clouds of dust, and making it impossible to take a correct aim. Sergt. Ansell won the range prize at 400, with a score of 20 points ; Sergt. Camp won the 500, with a score of 20 points. Lt. Morgan superintended the firing. The folfnwincr wpi-a t.lifi winners :—
This was the first match this season, and the company intends to send a challenge out so that members may improve in the shooting.
