NEW PLYMOUTH.
This day. The Wanganui natives want a greenstone mere in the possession of the Ngatiruanuis, and the tribes have quarrelled about it. A large meeting was held on Sunday at Oruterangi. Titokowaru said that all natives crossing the Waingongora would be shot. He hoped that if trouble ensued Europeans would keep away and not get mixed up in the quarrel. Hompahama is trying to quiten matters, and it is believed he has succeeded.
