This day. The Dakota sailed North at eight o'clock yesterday morning. It is supposed that the body of Mr Noble, of Wanganui, has been found near Greytown. An old brandy case, a cup, and chisel were found adjacent. A large number of English birds were received here by the Charlotte Gladstone. The nomination, under the assisted passenger system are increasing rapidly. The Coronet sailedon Saturday for Kaipara. The captain was robbed of £120 in a restaurant in Melbourne.
The Melbourne Argus, on the authority of Mr Reynolds, says that Mr Waterhouse became Premier on the distinct understanding that he was to be relieved on the first opportunity.
The Forfareshire's immigrants, for Wanganui, readily obtainedjemployment. Mr Hart, of Christchurch, has had an interview with the Minister of Public Works, relative to the railway from Rolleston to Malvern coalfields. Mr Richardson said the work would be commenced soon.
Public experiments with Malvern coal will be made to-day and to-morrow.
