The Supreme Court conrmencea its criminal sittings on Monday. There are eight cases on the list, including one of manslaughter.
At the exhibition Mr Meek, of Oamaru,
was awarded the second prize for spring wheat, and first prize for winter wheat. His spring wheat fl our was also highly commended.
The flax prizes were all taken by Canterbury, but Mr Cook, of Nelson, exhibited a sample which was highly commended for mats. Mr Good, of Dunedin, obtained a prize for beer, and Mr Kohn, of Auckland, for
jewellery. Other classes are not vet decided
