THIS DAY.

(Before His Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS. ~

For having been drunk three persons were fined, the alternative being presented to them of imprisonment. WILEUI* EXPOSURE. Philip Mulligan—one of the individuals dealt with for drunkenness—was next charged with wilfully eiposing himself in Queen street on the 12th instant., He was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. OB3CENE AND INDECENT LANGUAGE. A charge of using bad language in Chancery street was brought against a married woman 5 but the prosecutor withdrew the oharge owing to representations made by the accused. Case dismissed. BREACHES OE CITY BY-LAWS. Alfred Booth was fined five shillings for allowing one horse to be at large in .Franklin street on June 7. '•'■'•

Thomas Lynch, juri., was also ordered to pay five shillings and costs for permitting a horse to be at large in Parliament street. William Jennings was next charged with a breach of the by-laws by driving two cows across the footpath in Wellington street on June 7. Mr Joy pleaded guilty on behalf of defendant. Mr J. B. Russell, for the Corporation, did not ask for costs, as no defence had been set up. A penalty of 10s and costs was imposed. This fiuished the business.
