THE CIRCUS.
In the circus last night the rain came dowh'iti.torrents, and those who attended huddled together in cornels for shelter. The most amusing portion of this dreary entertainment was caused by the jokes of the clown. These being exactly the same as those produced on several former visits, some years ago, were familiar to all the small boys, whp, by answering in choruel to the " funny" questions before the clown had an opportunity, produced a ludicrous effect that seemed to afford much amusement. There was no improvement in the performance, and the attendance was not so large.
