W. Birmey, agents.
The schooner Fiirt took hey departure for Lyttelton to-day. The cutter Alarm arrived from Mangawai this morning, with 160 shepp, 8 tons gum, a quantity of produce and 2 passengers. The '/Aquilla left Levuka en December 26, ■with light easterly wind, carried it to 22 deg. smith, when a calm set in for 9 days. Afterwards very light northerly weather to 31° 30' south, got 4 days calm ; from thence light head-winds and calms until arrival in port. She brings back a portion of her original cargo.
The Whitby, from Mercury Bay, brines 11,000 feet timber for the company, and 12 tons gum for Brown, Campbell and Co. The schooner Ocean Wave cleared at the Customs this morning for Napier and Chatham Islands, with timber and general cargo. The schooner Sunbeam, frorm Wangaroa, via Ru.'Sell, brings 40,000 shingles, 2 tons gLtn, and 4 bales wool. The echooner Twilight, which arrived from Kaipara yeßterday, bnngs the following cargo : 817 bags and 119 cases gum, 1 case seeds, 7 empty casks, 11 ditto jars, 2 bales wool, 16 bales flax. 28 bags gum, Must & Co.; 67 bass gum, 2 bales wool, Scarrot; 14 bags gum, S. H. Bmith ; 1 package, 1 bundle, Wilson.
