THE "MESSIAH."
There was a crowded house last night at the JVJiisic Hall, and a great success attended tlie performance of the ".Messiah." The presence of tf.fi. H. the Duke of -kdinburgh, as one ot the porformers, had doubtless an effect in drawing such an excellent attendance. There were 120 performers in all, aud the choruses were excellently rendered : the recitatives by Mrs. Mitchell from the Thames, wei*e admirable ; her " JLvejoiee greatly" bein/v undoubtedly the gem of the evening.
