REGATTA CLUB.
The general meeting of the Auckland Regatta Club will be held this evening at half-past seven o'clock, at the Club-room in the Thames Hotel. The chief business is the receiving the treasurer's' balancesheet, and electing officers for the ensuing year. Tt is to be hoped tkafc there will be a full attendance of members, and that fresh spirit will be infused into the movements of the club, so that our great annual treat on regatta day may be as delightful as can be desired. It may be well to draw attention to the rules of the constitution of the club, which provides as follows:—" The club shall consist of all persons who have paid a subscription of twenty shillings to the funds of the club for the twelve months." The management of the affairs of the club is practically placed in the hands of the subscribers, as above, as they alone choose the committee for the ensuing year at the annual meeting.
