The s.s. Storrabircl, Captain Doile, arrived in the Manukau from Wanganui and Southern port 9 yesterday at 4 p.m., having left "VVanganui at 9 a.m. on the 24th. Tine weather was experienced throughout. Passengers—Mr. Truth, Mr. Morrison, Mr. McMinon, Mr. M. P. Reily, Mr. Harley, and three steerage The s.s. St. Kilda lefr. the Manukau on Saturday for Wangamii with a cargo of timber and sundries. Passengei's, Mr. Jackson, Miss Brewer, Mr. Hodge. l he p.s. Luna, Captain Fairchild, left Onehunga wharf on Saturday at 5.30 p.m. for Wellington. She was to call at Taranaki on her way down to take Mr Brannagan and Ilia meu from there to Wellington. It is expected that his Excellency the Q-overnor will call at Taranaki on his way up from Wellington to Auckland, and may be expected here at the end of the week.
The mission schooner Dayspring, Captain W. A. Fraser, arrived in harb >ur, from the Few Hebrides, early yesterday morning. She leit Futuna on the Bth instant, and experienced head winds throughout. < n Monday and Tuesday last, experienced a hard gale from E.N.E., veering to S.E. Made Cape Brett on Thursday last, and arrived in harbour at 9.30 a.m. Passengers:—Hey. J. Cosli. Mrs. Cosh, and two children ; Mrs. Fraser, three children, and Hervant. The schooner will remain here about seven days. The clipper schooner Cleopatra, Captain Ifwerson, returned from the F.jis, on --unday afternoon, with several passengers. >he made a capital run from this port to Levuka of nine daAS, and left that port again on the evening of the Bth inst. ?*he has met with very adverse weather on the return voyage. She left Levuka with light aiis which continued till the' 14th, then very lij;lit airs from the north and c.dms for several days. Heavy gxles from S.E. »ndE S.E. then pi eva led til the 2uth, and during the two foil wing rlaxs hnd strong southerly gales. Sighted Cape Brett on Friday last, and had light winds along the coast. Passengers: Mrs. Pillans and servant, Mr. and Miss htelphUton, Mrs. and Miss Dean and two children, Messrs. I. Muir, Eastgate, Scott, McCulloch, Engall, Overtoil, and Brown.
