BRITISH ART EXHIBITION OF 1871.
The first of a scries of Annual Exhibitions of selected works of fie and industrial art and scientific inventions will be opened at South Kensingt m, London, on the Ist of May, 1871, and closed on the 30th of September. The productions of all nations will be admitted, subject to their obtiiniug the certificate of competent j ulgcs that they are of sufficient excellence to be worthy of exhibition. The first exhibition will consist of the fallowing classes :—
Division Ist—Fine Art, ajplied or not applied to works of utility. Division 2nd -Manufactures; machinery and raw materials.
Division 3rd—Scientific inventions and new discoveries of all kinds.
Division 4th—Horticulture. All objects must be delivered at the Ej k bition building during the month of February Prices may be attached to the objects, and exhibitors will be encouraged to state their prices. Full paiticulars can be obtained on all matters connected with the Exhibition application to the British Consul, San Franl cisco.
