LITTLE RIVER DOMAIN BOARD

A meeting of the Little River Domain Board was held in the Power Board Office on Saturday when all members were present. The bank book showed a credit of about £60 but the chairman (Mr W. H. Montgomery) said there were commitments vhich would absorb most of it. A letter from the Commissioner of Crown Lands intimated that the old horary site would be vested in the Domain Board at a latter date.

The tender of Messrs Radford Brothers for forming a drain to. carry off the water from the low lying parts of the Domain was accepted, the price being £20 and it is anticipated that the disposal of the soil about 30 yards would be expensive, but for the time being it was arianged that it should be dumped.

The work will be commenced after the Little River show. The chairman explained with regards to the Little River Tennis court, that he and Mr J. O. Coop had interviewed the A. and P. bociety, who now did not consider it practical to move the court to another site. Under the circumstances the Little River club and the Maori

Tennis club were prepared to top dress the Maori court and he moved that a grant o2 £8 should be made towards this wo:k. A grant of £5 was also made to assist in top dressing the Okuti Tennis court.

Considerable discussion took place regarding the action of the Little River Library committee in letting the social room to the Plunket Society cn Saturdays *hen it was required by the Cricket club and several members expressed their opinions that the claims of Athletic clubs should be preferred. It was said that there was' not likely to be any, over-lapping this year as it was reported that the Peninsula competition would not take place. It was arranged that tenders should be called for the letting of the grazing of the Awaiti and Maori Domains. Some new conditions were added in the case of the Awaiti Domain from being grazed during the football season. It was also provided that rams should not be grazed on the Domain during certain months and that ewes should not be lambed there. Hand feeding on bhe Domain will not be permitted.
