CENTENNIAL EASTER FETE
ASSISTANCE FROM MAORI CONCERT PARTY At a meeting held in the Maori Hall, Little River, on Monday it was decided to send a concert party to Akaroa to assist in raising funds for the centennial celebrations at Easter. A committee was formed with Messrs J. Roberts (chairman), M. Ropata (secretary), Toby Robinson, J. Kini, J. Daniels, Tom Robinson and W. Webb. Request for Model Maori Pa It was decided also that Mr Tom Robinson be given special authority from the meeting to endeavour through the Centennial Committee to make every efl'ort to have a model Maori Pa erected in Akaroa in time for the Celebrations not only as a j place to help house-the visiting Maori people, but also as a worthy reminder of a race of people who were here before the white people. Winners of Competitions The winners of the competitions in connection with the Maori Concert Party were No. 1 competition: Hilda Savage, Little River; No. 2 competition: Mrs J. S. Kelly, 29 Kilmore Street, Christchurch. i j ___
