S.M. COURT, AKAROA.
A sitting of the S.M. Court, Akaroa was held before H. A. Young', Esq. S.M. yesterday. Unlicensed Wireless Sets. For being in possession of an unlicensed wireless set Mrs I. Barrett,, who cV'd not appear, was fined 5.s and costs. For a similar offence D. R. Pool was fined us and coses. Licensing Cases. 11. J. Bell, licensee of t'he Hill Top | Hotel, was charged that on 23rd of ; July, 1935, witih opening licensed ;lpremises aifter hours and) for selling P liquor. I-Ie was convicted and fined |j£2 and l costs for selling liquor after j, hours. ] Sub-inspector McLean of Christ j j church appeared for the polite and ;Mr Holmes for tihe. defendant, who pleaded guilty. | A. H. Bell was charged) with suppiy.j ing liquor after hours at the Hill Top | Hotel on. the same date. He was fined El and costs. Mr Holmes appeared [for the defen.djant and pleaded l guilty, j T, I-L 'Su neks 11 and A. F.M, Wright i were charged with being on licensed premises, Hotel Metropole, Akaroa, on August 10 th. They pleaded) guilty and were, convicted and fined £.1 andi costs. A similar case 'against A. Sergison was 'heard, defendant pleading net guilty. The information was dismissed. R. Allan, licensee of the Hotel Metropole, was charged, on 10th August with opening and selling liquor after hours. He pleaded not guilty. Mi's K. P. Allan, who was charged with supplying c.n the same date after hours,, pleaded not guilty. Mr Holmes appeared for the licensee and his wife andj Sub-inspector Mc-' Lean for tihe Police. The charges were dismissed. Cases. W.E. A. Edict's application. for a remission of maintanance arrears was g; an ted and the order suspended' sine die. iC. Gly-nan. was charged with faffing to comply with an order o.f the court to pay arrears, £,61 .12s 2d'. The case was dismissed. An application for cancellation of maintanance o.rder avd remission of arrears by Glynan- was refused. A. S':igison made an application, for a variation or cancellation of an, cvder. The order was cancelled and the art cars rfmvltecl.
