STATEMENT FOIR AUGUST, 1929, .1 ' e The following- particulars of the loan transactions and the new business reported during the month ended 31st August, 1929, have been supp--31 lied by the Right Hon. the Prime ' Minister. i supplied by the 'Right Hon. the Prime iMinister. The loans completed during the month amounted to £42-7,251, making , a total of £2,0'34,,090 completed since the ,Ist April last. Further rnew loans were granted to the amount of £287,'125 making the total' loans granted, but not yet paid, £-581,030, while offers of loans less than* the full amounts applied for amount to £7'7,«M4, a total of £588,374. 'Renewals of 38 loans amounting to £177,458 were alsi authorised. 'Applications for additional ne.w i loans amounting to. £422,939 are nc-w under consideration. Estates of a value of £622,081 were reported and accepted l for administration during the month. On 31st March last the .total value of the estates under administration was £48,.334,7-90- and the new business for the 5 months ended 31st Augusst, 1929, was £3,771,951, which is £797, 448 in excess of the figure of the same period for the previous year. | 'Grants of administration made by the ICourt in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 1 197 for the month. During the month 631 new wills appointing the Pulblilc Trustee executor were deposited for safe custody with the Public Trustee by living testators, and the total number now held in the Public Trust Office is 65;151, representing an estimated present value of over £260,000,000,.
