Auckland, October 3

Mr E. Canhan, a member of the Feder ation of Labour executive, states that he ex< plained to a meeting of waterside workers that tbe Federation executive had occupied rive days in discussing the course of aclion in regard to the imprisonment of the Waihi strikers.

It was resolved to call upon the affiliated unions and sympathetic unions to suspend woik for twenty four hours only to mark their disapproval of the imp-isonment of the Waihi men.

It is understood that the daj chosen ia to be about the end of next week.
