LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.

An oidinary meeting of this Board was held on the 14th inst. Pre enfc-The Chair man and all the members. The Chairman apologised for having postponed the meeting whioh should have been held on the 7th inst. The following oorrespondenya was read— Ftoci the Akaroa County Racing Club, asking that the small piece of road leading to the racecourse may bo improved and widened to its legimate width. This matter was left in the hands of the Chairman and Clerk to attend to. <• From Mrs Bachelor, a«king that some Improvement be effected on part of Western Valley road. The Clerk intimated this had been attend 1 ed to. ** From Mr R. W. Coop, requesting that that part of McQaean's Valley road may be formed and metalled. lb wa3 resolved that the work be attended to as soon as practicable. From Mr G. Harper, re h*lf caste and natives' rates. The Chairman and Mr White were further deputed to see Mr Harder on the matter. From Valuation Department, that Clerks to looal bodies are authorised to alter the Valuation Roll so far bb occupation or ownership are concerned where Buch have changed. From Mr F. A. Anson, calling attention to the unsatisfactory slate of roads leading to his property at Firaki, and sayiug that though he has paid rat a for close on 30 years, he has got only a packing track, et3. I It was reiolved that Mr Anson be informed that the Board is considering the advisability of raising a loan to improve the vari* pub roads in the district, and Mr Anson will b* info'med what ste{S are takeu, and the amount it w.U be proposed to tpeud on the read referred to. It was resolved that some slight improvement be effected on the Tarawera Valley * road, Creamery, Little River road and other roads, as Boon as possible. Accounts, amounting to £93 13s Bd, were parsed, and the Board adjourned.
