JOCK O'HAZRLDEAN is a beautiful black horse, standing 16 2 hands high with exceedingly heavy bone and muecle and very superior action, and t» wonderful good temper. Jock O'Hazeldean was bred by Mr R. Dawson of West Eyreton He is gob by the well'known horse Balmoral by Young Wallace, dam Blossom bred by Mr Balfour, of Oamaru, by Prince Royal grandame Nannie, imported from Victoria ; this mare I was several times placed as a prize winner at Oamaru. Blossom, the dam of Balmoral, by the imported horse Sir William Wallace, one of the best horses ever imported into New Zealand, one of his get took second prize in the brood mare class at Oamaru in 1894, when 18 years of age, and was bought by Mr Reid, of Eldersley, for 180 guineas ; he is al.-o the grandsire of Sir William Wallace, and was sold for £800 to go to the North Island. This horse has only been beaten in the Show Ring three times—twice by Renfrew Jock and once by his own son. Prisce Royal Bire of Blossom was champion horse of Canterbury at one time.
