Meeers Matson and Co report :— In the store sheep pens 2382 were offered and the sale was dragging, a considerable part of the entry being pasaed in. The entry wae made up mostly of small lots, wethere for:»in» the greater proportion. The ohief ea'es were :—Bl werhers 17s 10d, 66 at 17s 9d, 98 at 16a lid. 97 at 15s lid. and email lots at 18s to 18s 10d, 59 ewee 21e 9d, fe7o *t 17b 7d, 35 hoggets 15s 3d, 42 at 15a 10, and 35 at 13s lOd. There were only about 500 fat hoggets penned, and with the exception of one line the qualify was only medium. They made 14s to 17s 6d, and a line of 287 from Messrs Bealey Br s, Hororata, 18* 3d. A mod-rate entry of fat cheep ooneieted principally of unfinished lots, wethere com prialng thr; greater parb of the offering. Bidding from the commencement of the sale WM not so brisk as of late, and there was a general decline in valuee even for the better olftiies of rheep. Prime wethera made 21e to 26j 3d. f xtra to 303, medium 183 to 20a 6d, and lighter 16e 6d to 17. 9d ; prime ewes 20a ti 233 6rl, medium 17s 6d to 19a 6d and others 14s to 17s ; merino wethere 15e Udto2l». nTn In the fat cattle pens 238 head were offered, principally good and prime eteera.the general quality of the yarding being much better than of late. The sale opened rather •laok. but afterwards improved, and bidding was fairly brisk to the close. The dairy cows entered were only a moderate lot, and they sold at £4 10s to £9. . . A fairly large yarding of pigs met with a Rood sale for face, but stores were not qmto io brick in demand. Baconers made 45* to 60j, heavier weights up to 72s 66*. equal to 5d per lb, a line of 13 prime pigs from the Canterbury Agricultural College Farm realbins 64s to 72a , 6(1, porkers 32s to 42*, equal to 5Ad per lb, large stores 22a to 325, medium 15e to 20s. and weaners 10a to 14s.
