DOMAIN BOARD.
A meeeing of this Board was held imme' diately afterwards, the same gentleman being preßent, except Cr Munro. The minutes of the prior meeting were read and confirmed.
It was resolved to fill in the old well in the Domain grounds, as it was a source of danger and the bricks were nob valuable enough to warrant its preservation.
The oaretaker's account for a month's wages was passed for payment Hend the meeting adjourned.
to reduce from threepence to twopence the maximum general rate leviable in outlying district.. After a long debate, Mr Ali.<n'_ amendment was lost.

Mr Seddon moved an addition to the clause to the effect that no public billiard room should be kept op. n afier 11 p m, This was agreed to, and tho whole clause as amendfd was added to tho Bill.

The Presbyterian College fite Bill (Mr Arnold) passed it. final staces. Sir William Russell mov.d the second reading of the Babbit Act, 1882, Amendment Bill. The second reading was agreed to. Mr HerrieS rheved the second reading of the Rating Act Amendment Bill, whioh makes all improved native lands subject to the provisions of the Racing Aot. After some debate Mr Ferries agreed to defer the Committee staee of his Bill till the Government m'Bsure, which the Premier .aid was being brought down, was before the House.
The second reading was agreen to. The Juries Aot Amendment Bill (Mr MoNab), Electoral Act Amendment Biil (Mr McNab), and Absoluts Majority Bill (Mr McNab) were read a second time pro forma, and referred to the Statutes Revision Com' mittee.
Mr Houston moved the second reading of the Impounding Act. 1884, Amendment Bill, giving property owners power to destroy pigs, goats and fowls found on fenced or unfenoed land.
The Amendment suggested by the Premier that the Bill should nob be brought into force in a distriot unless the local body brought it in by special order, was accepted by Mr Houston, and the second reading waa agreed to on the voices.
