Of the diffeient classes offered hoggets and forward welheis met with the best demand. The chief lir.es sold weie 103 wethers at 14s 7d, 134 at 13s lid, 396 at 12s lid, and smaller lots 14s 4d to 16s 6d, 327 hoggeta 13s 10d, 101 at 13s lid, 107 at J3s 9J, 50b at 12s Id, 129 at lis Bd, 108 at 10s 9d, and email lots 9s 4d to 14a 9d, 300 full mouth halfbred ewes in lamb 15a 6d, 111 crossbreds «t 13a 6d, and others 14s 6d to 14s Bd.

The entry of fat cattle numbeied 177 head nearly all of which weie prime quality, and prices were a shade easier. A line of 32 steeis hem Mr D. Thb Russian Bakvebt. — The Russian harvest is largely a failure. Ihe only hope is tbat there will be an average crop in tiie fcouthern and south-western provinces. 'Ihe stocks of food injreserve are low.
