OKAIN'S BAY.
The annual distribution of prizes in connection with the Okaia'e Bay School was held in the Hall on Thursday eveniug last. The evening was delightfully clear, and drew together a very large number of parents, friends and visitors. M r John Moore, Chair* man of the Committee, preeided, and with an appropriate speech, presented the prizes, each child passing being awarded a handsome book. Sewing prizes were also awarded the girls, their work having been judged by Mesdames Peterson and Baird and Miss Thacker, and reported upon as excellent The prizea having been awarded, the master, after a few remarks, called for cheers for the Committee, which were lustily given. A children's dance was afterwards held, Mies Bosewarne and Mr Moore ably supplying the music, when all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The following is the prize list: — Standard VI. — Harold Moore, Archie Ware, Mabel Moore and Ruby Harris. Standard IV.—Basil Ware, Louie Harris, Richard Mould, Stella Graham, Louisa Harris. Standard lll.—Edmund "Wallace, Robin Robinson, Ira Robinson, Charles Moore, Maude Hart, Adele Mould, Olive MacKay, Maggi* Wallace, Annie Harris. Standard 11. — Herman Hunt, Stewart Melntoßh, Maurice Moore, Percy Harris, Caroline Harris, Lucy Harris, Bertha Mason, Irene Mclntosb, Ivy Wallace. Standard I.—Gladys Harris, Matilda Soffhagen. A magazine was presented to each infant. Attendance prizes.—Long distance—Har> old Moore and Ivy Wallace ; short distance —Charles Moore. Master's prizes for good conduct —Richard Mould and Stella Graham. Sewing prizes : Standard VI. — Ruby Harris 1 Mies Kosewarne's special prize Mabel Moore. Standard IV.—Maggie Wallace 1, Esther Holland 2 and Miss Thacker's special prize. Standard ,111. —Olive McKay 1. Mrs Baird's special prize, Maude Hart. Standard ll.—Bertha Masoa. Standard I.—Gladys Hards. lufanis — Mrs Petersen's special prize, Charlotte Hartley.
