FRENCH FARM PICNIC.
This picnic tame off yesterday There was a wrj large attendance oi people from the hays, and a contingent of between 50 and 60 went over in tbe Piraki from Akaron. It is needless to say everyone wus m::st. heartily weicotn«:l, i,Ki the pports were well contested, the school children as well as adults having some capital fun. A capital repast was provided for all, and at its conclusion Mr Woi. Wright made a pleasant little speech, thanking Akaroa friends for their help and presence. Mr T. l <\ Taylor made a suitable reply, ,-tnd a very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close. In the 'evening there was the usual ball,-which was well at.ended* Wo hope 'o gire our readers a more j ditailed account in a future issae. !
