AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A meeting of this Council was held on Wednesday night. Present—His Wbr■bip lhe Mayor and Ore Taylor, Checkley, Monro,, Peno. Heath, Penlington, Orbell, McGregor and Harrison. MNUTES. The minutes of tbe prior meeting were road and confirmedi 'CORRESPONDENCE. From the Bracken subscription Commutes a-king for return of subscription list. It was stated nothing had been col-; lectad, and it was resolved the subscription list be returned endorsed to tbat Effect. FINANCE. Receipts since last meeting—Rates £T3 12s 7d, wharfage £61 5s Bd, refund 17* '6d, dog tag 10a. Total- £76 659». Dr to B»nk of New Zealand £4 7s sd. Accounts to be presented — Foreman £4 W. The Council then adjourned. Domain BoAnD. A meeting of the Domain Board was than held ■the same gent'emen present. Tbe minutes were oonfirmed, and applications for the poMlon of oaretdker opened and considered io Committee. There were three applications, and on resuming it was reported that Mr Jolly had been appointed caretaker. His Worship the M. .yor and Mr Pen- ! linglon were appointed to affix the seal of tbe Council to the agreement.
