Panorama To-night Mr Robson, who has long been favourably known in the panorama business will exhibit a fine new set of scenes on the China-Japan war in the Akaroa Oddfellows' Hall. As Mr Robson ia a good speaker, the pictures well painted, and the price of admission low, there will no doubt be a very large attendance. Taylor is alw-ys euterpiising and novel, and now sends us another proof of this in the sh-pe of a series of] views of Akaroi and the district* most artistically photographed and nicely mounted. Besides the Akaroa pictures, which include many of.the most attractive localities, are views of tbe Hill-Top Hotel, Duvauchelle, Le Bon's, Okain's, Litile Akaloa and French J?arm, and it would be hard to imagine a nicer present to send to absent friend*. He also sends us a charming photographic Christmas cird, in which aro grouped together glimpse,? of A German Bay, Newton's waterfall, Ilfracombe House, the Domain and other loc-d spots of beauty. As will bo s<°en by the advertisement, the pices of these artistic productions are extremely reasonable. Italy and Abyssinia.—Peace w»s concluded in Abyssinia on October 26th, and the ceremony was conducted with much solemnity. The treaty of Ucc-a'a has been abrogated, and the autonomy of Etythrea recognised. The frontier is to be delimited within a year, Italy engaging in the meantime not to concede any territory. The Italian prisoners are to be sent to .Hair-ah, then to Zfilah, and will be released on the 20tb. The expenses in this connection aro to he borne by the Italian Government. The treaty with Abyssinia is ratified. The Kaiser and the French President have congratulated the King oi Italy. -Motor Car Race.—Thirty motor cars fitted with all sorts of tyr?s, started on a race from London to Brighton on November 14th, the distance being fifty miles. An immense crowd watched them at various points, andjmbouoded interest was displayed in the novel spectacle.. Both the weather and the roads we*e unfavourable to such an experiment and seventeen machines were disabled, but the rest wer« fairly successful, ' two of the " Bollee " type occupied four hours upon the journey. At a banquet held afterwards Lord Winchelsea claimed that this was the beginning of a great national industry, One autocar occasionally ran 25 miles au \ hour. ...Hundreds of cyclis's accompanied the machines. The* Bigamy Case—The case of bigamy against Bosher; or Brouoherier as he was called; for which Mr Rodrigues and Mrs Sergison had to go to Wellington to give evidence has concluded. A ' Press' telegram says:—ln the charge of bigamy against - Stephen Bosher, the evidence showed that f he was married to Josephine Libeau at Lyttelton seventeen years ago; and in 1892 j married Mary Ann Recce, of Wellington. ," Before his second marriage the accused stated, ' in reply to ,a question, that he had not previously been married. A gaol warder produced a letter, writ ten by the accused since his 5 confinement at the gaol to the a cond Mrs • Bocher.
