SIR,— The Writer, who has been in the U.S. of America for the past 'five years, and visiting other conntries since having won the championship of Australia in 18S9 in the square heel and toe walking and cycling contests, and being de{<ir6us of again entering the areua after a rest of a few years, by which I feel better able to 'stand the fatigue consequent to a contest of tbis character, I desire to publish a CHALLENGE to all comers of New Zealand and Auslralia, through the valuable columns of your paper, for a contest at WALK-\ ING, CYCLING nnd ROWING, the winner to get two out of three events, one of which is to taste placo at Aksroa, for the sum of £200 or more.
