SIR, —The writer, who his been in the U.S. ot 4merica for the past five years, and visiting other countries since having won the championship of Australia in 1889 in the square heel and toe walking and cycling contests and being desirous of again entering the arena after a rest of a few years, by which I feel better able to stand the fatigue consequent to a contest of this character, I desire to publish a CHALLENGE to all comers ot New Zealand and Australia, through the valuable columns of your paper, for a contest at WALKING, CYCLING and ROWING, the winner to get two out of three events, one of which is to tase place at Akaroa, for the suna of £200 or more. It is understood that any comers of Australia, who desire to enter into a contest with me, they shall take place at such places and times in New Zealand as may be mutually agreed upon. DON. LIBEAU.
