The Riiiw\ys Compensation Adjustment Bill wis paused, as were the Asipticß Rnidi'iction and the Contagions Diseases Ant Amendment Bills. In the evening the following Bills were tend tbe pecond time :—Orchard and Garden Pes-l*, Rating Act Amendment, Juvenile Depravry Suppression, and Advances to Settlers Act Amendment.

Aug. 14.

A n-imber of questions were answered. tho Government's refusal to give returns was continued till the recess. In the evening it was resolved that Government business take precedence on Wed« nesdays Mr J. M'K«nzie proposed his motion for a Corami t?e on the Press Association, but accepted an 'amendment confining the Committee's enquiry to the working of the Electric Lines Act.
