Next Thursday the annual match ■between the Chriftohnrch and Akaroa Football Clubs will take place at Akaroa. These teams have met four times, and n«ch time the town men have been too good
for onr representatives. The Akaroa team on this occasion is, however, a very strong *»? one. and much interest is being taken in the match. The following is the local team :—Full back— Hubert; three-quarters—Vangioni* Buchanan ; five-eighths—Wight (C>ipt.) ; half back—Bamford ; forwards —Newbignn, Narbey. Shadbolt. Mitchell, Kearney, J. The team will meet ot tbe rooms on Monday evening at 7 o'clock Bharp for training par poses. A meeting of tbe Clubis called for Saturday evening to arrange for the ent'-rlainment of the visitors.
A meeting of delegates of Peninsula Football Clubs was held at Duvancbelle'e on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Present— Messrs J. Thacker (Chairman) and Ware, (Okain's), Barker and Oldridge (Leßon'e)* Skipper and Williams (Wairewa), and Vangioni (Akaroa). Rssolved that tne trial mnt-b take place, in Piper's pnddock, Dtiyauchelle's Bayj orr Saturday Bth Augur-t, at 2 30"* p.m.*; and tbdt the team be picked that evening, whether the trial m> tcb takes place or not, to play against the Canterbury Representsi lives.
Resolved tbat second round ot Cup matches be played in same order as the first round, only on the opposite grounds, and tbat first match of second round be played on 15th August j also tbat there will be no Cup match played on Saturday, August 22, as it is the date tbe Peninsula Representatives pUy against Canterbury.

In a mstah between German Bay Main and Akaroa Borough Schools on Saturday, German Bay proved victorious by 5 to 3. A. Malmsnche scored a try and kicked a. n<?ftt goal. A. Brookes soored for Akaroa,. but the kick failed. On Wednesday a return mitch was played, Akaroa winning by 3 to nil. From a eplendid dribble, Phillips sooied, but owing to the slippery nature of the ball, his kick at goal was a failure. For Akaroa, A. Narbey, Schubert (2), and Phillips played a fine game, 68 did A. Malmanohe, V. Lelievre and F. Pidgeon for German Bay. Mr Narbey gave every satiefaotion as Referee.
