A lettor vms roemvpd from Mi" Gebbie's Valley Committee, to toe pft'eot ■that most of the children hitherto attendin? their school would, for a time at least, go to the Rabbit Island school, It was resoived not to appoint a teacher in the place of the present master, who had obtained the appointmeat at the •new school, but to recommend the 'Board to close the school temporarily. The Chairman asked leave, to withdraw the following motion, of which he gave notice at the last meeting :—" That n circular be sent to all the teachers ander the Board in chirge of district public schools stating that the practice now prevailing of giving home !pssoiis to children under twelve years of age must be discontinued.' , ' The reason ho asked leave te withdraw the motion was because two members of the Board were attending Parliament, and would probably like to be present when such en importont matter came up.. He would move the motion at a future meeting, and would amend it in the direction of substituting the words " in all standards •below Standard 1V.," in lieu of the words " under twelve years of age," The Board agreed to the motion being j withdrnwni I
