LITTLE RIVER.

Our correspondent writes : The much talked of bachelors ball took place in Maori Hall, Little River, on Tuesday ( evening, 23rd June. was a large / attendance. The interior of the building was beautifully decorated with a variety of flags and "evergreens, -and the fl>or was in perfect order for dancing. Close to the verandah of the hall a large marquee was erected. wherein tables were laden with a plentiful supply of excellent refreshments, which were highly appreciated, the management of the tables being under the supervision ot Mrs Reid. Many of tha ladies' dresses looked extremely nice, cream being the prevailing color. Where all looked so fetching it is difficult to particularise, but nevertheless, the honour of being the belle ot the evening muet be accorded to the lady in the—f but perhaps it would be just as well not to describe the dress.) The dancing was thoroughly enjoyed and continued with much spirit, until 3 am. The duties of M.C. were efficiently performed by Mr W. Reid. The musicane were Messrs E. Coop and 3. Nutt (piano), G. Coop and J: Rey« nolds (violin). The bachelors of" the district are to be congratulated on the excellent arrangements provided for the comfort of their guests, who, no doubt, will remember with pleasure the happy hours spsnt at the bachelors' ball, ■•■:
