PRODUCE MARKETS.
The N Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report :—
Wool—List week we referrad to the clone of the London sales, when we pointed oat thnt the results were most disappointing. We regret that the averages obtained during the last three nights of the series fully confirm this view. Medium and inferior wools appear lo be ruling quite as low as during the early offerings at the April eeriee, but good light combing merino and light bright haltbreds display an advance, die well-known clip bns sold for less money than was offered for it in the Chrietchurch sale room. Another instance of the advantages of realising in the local market.
Grass Seeds—There is ft slight enquiry for ryegrass of best quality, but inferior is neglected. Best machine dressed 3s Gl to 4b per bushel f.0.b., sackq ext-a. Cocksfoot, bright heavy, machine dressed seed, 4£d to 4£d per lb ; discoloured do, 3d to per lb f.0.b., Backs extra. Colonial cfovor 4d to 5d per lb de'ivered. Potatoes — No improvement in this •narket to note.
