DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Mortzson and HorKIN. Dunedin, report for the week : —
Cocksfoot — Enquiries concerning this feed continue fo cmno to band, but in the ahppnco of samples we are unable to report business. T'le sepH crops in the North Island are very unsatisfactory. Our Mr Mnntz-ion, who is now travelling through tbe-e districts writes us—"The cocksfoot in Taranaki district is scarce, and a poor pfimplo, very light, and dark in color, This is owing to heavy continuous rains, not giving the seed a chance to ripen." We still think growers will see good prices this year for Akaroa seed. Fruit—About 130 capes came to hand by Monday's steamer consisting mostly of cooking plums. This market is very full of plums of all sorts and prices declining. This wpek we are selling at Id to Ud up to 2:1 for cooking plums ; green gages 2-1 to oilier eating sorts \H to 2d. We eonld sell egg and other large sorts at 2id to 3d. Peaches wanted. 21 lo 3d per In. Pear*, eating only saleable l_-d to 2d ; cooking kinds no enquiry. Apples, good showy eating sorts 2d to 2_d, small Id to l£d ; cot.king apples, if large 2d, others, Hd lo 2d.
