AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Messrs H. G. Robinson & Co. report that fnlly 400 head of cattle and 300 sheep were yarded on Friday last. The attendance of purchasers and farmers was very much larger than usual. There was a large entry of dairy cows, but the demand was very poor, in fact wo cannot record a sale in that class. The competition all through wan very weak, owing no doubt to tho backwardness of the grass. Two or three lines of 2-year-old steers and heifers were sold, but the majority of the GTi'-ic; were passed in, not reaching owner'fi reserves. We sold on behalf of Messrs Scow 'k Anson 2-year-old steers at £2 73 M ; on Mr Robertson's account a nice line of heifers at (J. 8s; and 0:1 Mr J. McKay's, jun., ac count 10 grand heifers at £2 12s 6d; on a'.r:>'.int of Mr T. Oldridge, dry and store cows at /,2. A nice; line of steer calves from Mi- Ciia'lVifld'ii herd fetched £1 \s 6d, and
'. ■me heifers in cait on account, of Mr Gunning On beh.il fof Messrs Miles and Co., we'quitted some fat cattle at £$ and f,.\ los, iiiid also on our own account some fat nt f,\ ios. The demand for fat cattle is «.-v>d, and we also confidently expect to see prices for store cattle take a decided turn for the better before our next sale.
