WHO’S THE TRAITOR?
(To Editor of Auckland Examiner.)
Sir, —Allow me, through the medium of your paper, to state a circumstance that occurred at the hist general meeting of the natives at Ngaruawhia. Whilst the mob were gathered together there came up from town a native with a letter to our native King, from a certain European, telling him (the King) to send off at once to William King to put him on his guard, the- letter stating that the troops were at work undermining his pah ; whereupon a messenger was at once despatched to William King. Now, who this party is that sent up the letter I have not been able.to End out, but I have no hesitation in saying that, whoever it was, it must be a SEE DUE person that is thrown out of office, and is now going about the town and country keeping up a cor respondence with tl.e natives. Should anything further come to my knowledge I shall feel it my duty to let you know. Your obedient servant. John V. Cowell.
