Dunstan Horticultural Society

The 38th annual Show of the Dunstan Horticultural Society was held in the Town Hall Clyde, on Saturday, February 15th. The total numtier of entries were not as large as was anticipated, the competition in the fruit section being disappointing. However, the quality of the exhibits throughout was of a high order, the judges all expressing pleasure thereat. The flowers made a delightful picture, several magni-> ficent gladiolus being according to the judge (Mr G. Millar) fit for any show in the Dominion. There was a good attendance of the public in the evening when Mr W. A. Bodkin M.P. presented the several handsome cups and special prizes to the successful exhibitors. The following is the special prize list: — Most points in Flowers —Me Arthur Cup; Special £l/1, Mr W. R. Toon. Miss Daphne Waddell. Champion Gladiolis—lo/- donated by Mr.C. N. McDonald. Miss D. McElroy. Most points in Apples—l year's subscription to Dunstan Times. Mr T. R. Robertson. Most points in Plums—Mr Arnott's Trophy; also Hollo way Challenge Cup. T. R. Robertson. Tray of Peaches—Naylors' Trophy. T. R. Robertson. Most points in Peaches—Burbidge Cup, and 10/- donated by Henderson's Bakery. T. R. Robertson. Best half case of Apricots—T. R.
