FRUIT AND PRODUCE
Reillys report that business duiing the week was good, with fair supplies 'of ali lines forward. Smaller supplies of Apples are available- These consist mostly of Delicious, Sturmcrs, Granny Smith, with a few Cleopatras and oilier varieties, supplies being rationed equitably among retailers. Limited supplies of Cooking Applec are also coming to hand. Very small distributions of Pears are being made. NZ. Grapefruit is in heavier supply, with lower values. The shipment of Australian Oranges which came to hand was in good order. Australian Lemons were also in good, order and sufficient supply. Ripe Bananas are now available, and the quality is good. Flowers have a very good enquiry, with small supplies of Narcissi coming forward from the North. Increased supplies of Walnuts are coming to hand from Gentral Otago, and values are slightly easier. Small parcels of Passion fruit and tree tomatoes are available. There has been an excellent demand for vegetables. Cauliflowers have firmed in value, and Cabbage are also bringing the Govt, fixed values. Spinach, Brussels Sprouts, Celery and Leeks have a demand. A better enquiry is being experienced for marrows and pumpkins fair supplies of which are available. For King Edward Potatoes there is an excellent enquiry, with limited supplies available . Good quality Onions have a demand at increased values. Eggs:—Slightly increased supplies are available, with values unchanged at present. During the week we received and sold:— PER DOZ. .
